Mucormycosis is a opportunistic infections caused by members of the genera Rhizopus, Mucor, , Rhizopus, Cunninghamella and lichtheimia/absidia. Predisposing conditions include hematologic malignancy, stem cell transplantation, diabetic ketoacidosis, chronic kidney disease, desferoxamine therapy, and treatment with corticosteroids and cytotoxic drugs.
