PIXEL 8

The Pixel 8 series is set to make its debut in India in just four days, and there’s already buzz about how much these devices might cost. Google is gearing up for the launch, which includes the Pixel 8 and its Pro model. Based on leaked pricing information from the USA, we can speculate on their potential prices in India. The launch date is confirmed for October 4, and we’ve already got a sneak peek at the phone’s designs. If rumors hold true, it could launch at $699, while the Pro model might come in at $999. This marks a $100 increase compared to the launch prices of the Pixel 7 series.

A recent report from 9to5Google, citing a retail source, suggests that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro could be priced at approximately Rs 58,000 and Rs 82,900, respectively. However, this pricing strategy for this series in India seems unlikely, and here’s why.

Considering the $100 price bump for both the models and looking at the launch prices of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in India, which were Rs 59,999 and Rs 84,999, respectively, it’s probable that the Pixel 8 series will also see an increase in India. In that scenario, the standard Pixel 8 might fall in the range of Rs 65,000 to Rs 70,000, while the Pixel 8 Pro could be priced somewhere between Rs 90,000 to Rs 95,000. However, it’s important to note that these figures are purely speculative at this point, taking into account the rumored USA prices and Google’s historical pricing trends for its phones in India.

Besides the Pixel 8 series smartphones, Google has officially confirmed the launch of another device in India: the Pixel Watch 2. Last year, Google introduced the first-generation Pixel Watch with a starting price of $349, but it was never officially launched in India. Now, with the second-generation Pixel Watch 2 set to debut in India and the expected price to remain the same at $349, approximately Rs 29,000, it will be intriguing to see how Google prices its latest smartwatch for the Indian market.
