FIBROCYSTIC LESION

BENIGN BREAST DISORDERS is a condition of frequent lesion of a breast,it is also referred as a FIBROCYSTIC condition.

It is common in women of 32-52 year of age but rare in postmenopausal women who are not taking hormonal therapy.

Main reason of fibrocystic condition is Estrogen.

In fibrocystic condition microscopic finding may show Cysts,Papillomatosis,adenosis,fibrosis.

SYMPTOMS

In the condition of fibrocyst,it may show asymptomatic mass lesion in breast and later it is diagnosed by accidently.Discomfort and condition worsen during premenstrual cycle in which cysts become enlarged and serious nipple discharge may occur.

Mammography or ultrasonography are used to diagnosed and sometime FNAC is needed.

TREATMENT

Evening primrose oil which contains gamolenic acid are used to decrease pain in 40-50% in patients.Low fat diet are also recommended to reduce pain.

FIBROADENOMA OF BREAST

This type of Breast disorder occur mostly in young women within the age of 20 after puberty.Fibroadenoma normally not happened after menopause.Generally ultrasonography done in fibroadenoma.Safe procedure for fibroadenoma is cryoabalation or freezing.
